Overview

The New Zealand Association for the Study of Religions (NZASR) is the main professional body in New Zealand for academics and others engaged in the critical, analytical and cross-cultural study of religion, past and present. The NZASR is not a forum for confessional, apologetical, or other similar concerns.

The Australian Association for the Study of Religions (AASR) is an organisation whose mission is to foster the development of high quality scholarship about religion in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region.

The two associations are meeting together for the third time in 2018 and will be hosted by Theological and Religious Studies at the University of Auckland.

There will be two parallel streams of panels; plenary lectures and meals will be held together.

The conference will take place in Auckland, from 29-30 November 2018 at the University of Auckland (map). Abstracts for paper and panel proposals should be submitted online to either the ASSR or NZASR streams: http://www.nzasr.ac.nz/conference/index.php/annual/2018/schedConf/cfp The deadline for proposals is 15 August 2018.

Paper and panel proposals will be processed on the NZASR site, but registration, payment, and arrangements for accommodations are to be completed on the University of Auckland's Events Centre site https://uoaevents.eventsair.com/nzasr18/registration/Site/Register.
